Crime Prevention Advice

A key role of An Garda Síochána with regard to crime prevention is the provision of practical advice to individuals.

As an aide to the implementation of crime prevention strategies at a local level, Garda crime prevention officers are stationed around the country to offer guidance and reassurance to members of the community. Additionally, the Garda Síochána website itself is a valuable source of crime prevention information, offering useful advice on topics such as burglary prevention, child protection, retail security (PDF, 56 KB), ATM fraud and identity theft, among others.

Recently, the Gardaí published a series of useful leaflets offering practical advice on improving home security.

Crimecall

Crimecall is a television programme transmitted monthly on RTE One, aimed at enlisting public assistance to help solve crimes as well as offering crime prevention advice.
